Are you a highly commercial Buyer with a genuine flair for homewares and furniture? We are looking for an ambitious individual ready to make a significant impact by curating a diverse and compelling collection!

🚀 The Role: Impact and Ownership

This is more than just buying; it’s about mixing creative selection with sharp commercial strategy.

  • Global Product Sourcing: Be the trend-spotter! You will identify and source high-quality new product lines from both UK and international suppliers, ensuring every item meets our strict design brief and quality standards.
  • Strategic Negotiation: You’ll be the key negotiator, building solid partnerships with suppliers and securing the most favourable terms and conditions to guarantee value and reliability.
  • Commercials: Work alongside senior stakeholders (including Finance and Marketing) to execute smart pricing strategies that maximise profit. You will be instrumental in implementing inventory control, optimising stock levels, and ensuring capital efficiency.
  • Ranges: Manage and balance your product portfolio, ensuring we always have the right mix to meet—and anticipate—customer demand across the furniture and homewares spectrum.
  • E-Commerce Excellence: Ensure every new product, launch, and promotion is flawlessly set up across our systems. Your attention to detail directly impacts how easily customers find and purchase our range online.
💡 What You Need to Succeed

We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and organised Buyer ready to drive continuous improvement.

  • Essential Experience: You must demonstrate proven experience in a Buying role within the homewares or furniture industry, ideally in the demanding world of eCommerce, managing relationships with both UK and international suppliers.
  • Industry Insight: A genuine passion for the product, backed by a deep, analytical understanding of current market trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape.
  • Negotiation & Resolution: A proven track record of strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively resolve complex commercial issues.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: The ability to analyse data, forecast demand, and make informed decisions on product selection and pricing.
  • Professionalism: Excellent organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in using purchasing and inventory management systems.
  • Reporting to: Head of Buying – MFI; Key Stakeholders: MFI Product Team, Commercial Finance, Marketing; Location: Leyland Head Office, Skelmersdale Warehouse (with travel as required)
  • Full Time | 37.5 Hours Per Week | Mon-Fri
