Qualifications

• Previous experience working as HGV Technician or within related fields.
• Ideally qualified in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Time served HGV Technician will be considered.
• Ability to participate in breakdowns and complete paperwork accurately.
• General computer literacy advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining various Trucks and Vehicles.
• Conducting Fault Diagnostics.
• Preparing for MOT tests.
• Performing Mechanical and Electrical repairs.
• Ensuring repairs follow manufacturer’s procedures.
• Conducting road tests of vehicles.

We currently have a vacancy for a Nightshift HGV Technician in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks Depot in Coventry.

Who we are looking for

• You will have previous experience working as an HGV Technician / Mechanic within the HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car or an associated sector.
• Ideally have a qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Or a time served HGV Technician.
• Ability to participate in breakdowns.
• Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records.
• General level of computer literacy is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

Role responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles.
• Fault Diagnostics.
• MOT Preparation.
• Mechanical and Electrical repairs.
• Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner.
• Road test vehicle when required, subject to licence restrictions.
• Attend any technical or development training that is made available.

Working hours

Week 1: Mon - Thurs 8pm to 7am. Week 2: Tues – Fri 8pm to 7am.
