Salary: Starting from £32,864

Working Hours: Discussed upon application

Scania GB offers a conversion programme for technicians from the Light Vehicle, Plant, or Agricultural sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to convert their current skills and train to become a Scania HGV Technician.

The programme includes on-site mentoring and bespoke training at our National Training Academy. You will be partnered with experienced Scania technicians and have a mentor to observe and shadow. At the Academy, you will receive tailored training delivered by our in-house experts.

We will equip you with all necessary tools and knowledge to succeed, including the opportunity to gain industry-recognised IRTEC and Scania Roadside Assistance qualifications.

Meet Ricky and Joe, who joined us from the Light Vehicle sector:

“Making the switch from cars to HGV and stepping into Scania from a related industry has been incredibly rewarding. I enjoyed a warm welcome, upskilling, and applying my transferable skills. Being part of this team feels like finding my professional home. With opportunities for career progression, I’m eager to see where this journey takes me.”

“This programme allows me to apply my experience while learning new skills, transforming my career. I wish I had started sooner!”

To join this programme, you will need:
  • The desire to utilise your current experience to transition into the Heavy Vehicle industry
  • An apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 2 or similar considered)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ mechanical experience
