Qualifications

Location: Hampshire (Permanent), Salary: £45,000 per year + benefits.

This role is offered by Synergize Consulting for a leading defense client. The successful candidate will provide specialist guidance on safety, health, and environmental matters within a large engineering site, potentially involving industrial environments and work at height.

Responsibilities
  • Providing professional and accurate H&S advice on legislation and company procedures for defense programmes.
  • Conducting H&S audits and inspections in line with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 and internal procedures.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and non-conformities, producing comprehensive reports with root‑cause analysis.
  • Participating in and supporting wider H&S activities, including on‑call rota, public and promotional events.
  • Supporting the occupational health department with early intervention and rehabilitation of injured parties.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Background in H&S roles, ideally in a specialist, consultant, lead or managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and ability to advise teams on potential hazards.
  • Strong auditing skills and ability to produce detailed reports.
  • Experience working on industrial or engineering sites, including confined spaces or work at height.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 safety standards.
  • Holding or willingness to obtain a NEBOSH diploma.
  • Excellent communication skills, engaging stakeholders.
  • Preferable security clearance (SC) or willing to undertake clearance.
