Head Chef

Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE + Excellent benefits package

Location: The Albion Hotel, Freshwater

Job Introduction: The Albion Hotel, Freshwater, renowned for delivering fresh, innovative, and high-quality food experiences.

As the Head Chef, you will showcase your creativity and originality using local produce. We expect you to inspire your team, the front‑of‑house staff, and even the guests you serve.

You need to be an enthusiastic individual, self‑motivated, and passionate.

Your role will be to champion food safety and health standards.

Your role will also balance guest expectations in an ever‑changing, seasonal environment.

Outgoing chefs will be preferred; your personality should shine through.

There are multiple opportunities to grow within this new business.

What you’ll do
  • Coordinate and direct all core culinary activities within the Albion Hotel and other assigned locations.
  • Manage and control services to meet performance, qualitative, and financial targets.
  • Drive revenue opportunities through commercial initiatives, labour efficiency, and effective operations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, colleagues & community.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring excellence and addressing performance issues promptly and fairly.
  • Identify organic growth and new business opportunities.
  • Ensure exceptional food hygiene, health, safety, and environmental practices.
What you bring
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Food Production certificate or equivalent.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Proven experience as a Chef in a busy, client‑facing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work under pressure and across various shifts and service times.
  • Direct management experience of chefs and kitchen brigade.
  • Strong leadership abilities, setting and maintaining high standards.
  • Proficient in time management and organisational skills.
  • Analytical problem‑solving skills, with the ability to implement innovative solutions.
  • PC literate.
  • Advanced Food Safety or Health and Safety qualification.
What we offer

Up to £55,000 DOE + Excellent benefits package

  • Any 5 days out of 7 – 9:00-23:30
  • Shifts are as necessary to support with business requirements
  • Full uniform supplied

  • Annual leave April – March 28 days per calendar year
