Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

An exciting post has arisen to join our team within the Stroke Department, based on Pasteur Ward.
Pasteur Ward offers specialist diagnosis and treatment for people who have had a stroke. Patients benefit from the high quality treatment and care delivered by a team of experienced staff. Working as an integral member of the team, the post holder will expand, develop and utilise clinical skills to enhance and optimise clinical practice. Excellent patient care is our main focus with a structured education, training and development programme to help you develop your skills and your knowledge.

The Health Care Assistant will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward or department to provide a seamless service & high quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
The HCA is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of a qualified nurse, working within the Trust’s policies and procedures and the philosophy of the ward. Working collaboratively as part of the ward team.
It is expected that the Health Care Assistant will continue to develop their own capabilities and knowledge of tasks in line with the Trust’s career pathway.
