Job summary

A leading NHS Trust in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Consultant in Haematology for a permanent position covering 10 sessions per week. This role includes responsibilities such as offering expertise in clinical and laboratory haematology, supporting postgraduate education, and participating in clinical governance. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will need to possess a medical degree, full GMC registration, and MRCP. This position offers a competitive salary of £109,725 - £145,478 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Being on or eligible for the UK Specialist Register within 6 months the date of interview.
  • Knowledge of using evidence based medicine to support decision making.
  • Involvement in research projects and published papers.

Responsibilities

  • Share workload and input to the Anticoagulant and Transfusion services.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to clinical governance.
  • Provide teaching to UEA Medical Students.

Skills

Wide experience in clinical and laboratory Haematology
Ability to provide expert clinical opinion
Experience in teaching junior medical staff
Ability to plan and develop a modern service

Education

MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
Full GMC Registration
MRCP or equivalent
