At James Cropper, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s part of who we are. We’re looking for a hands‑on Health & Safety Consultant to join our Papermaking division on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. What’s the role?

You’ll play a key role in enhancing health and safety performance across our Paper sector. From implementing safety zoning and updating risk assessments to rolling out behavioural safety systems, you’ll be at the heart of initiatives that reduce workplace incidents and keep our people safe.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver tactical support and implement corrective actions to achieve real change.
  • Update documentation, including risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
  • Drive short‑term improvements such as signage upgrades and PPE compliance.
  • Support the roll‑out of behavioural safety systems and PABIAC objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on emerging health and safety issues.

What we’re looking for:

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent NVQ.
  • Certified membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH).
  • Strong experience in health and safety consultancy roles.
  • Knowledge of legislation, behavioural safety principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a proactive mindset.
