The Sport & Physical Activity service are seeking to appoint a Camp Coordinator for our Gryphons Go Summer camps for children aged 5-11 years.

Our multi sports camps make use of our fantastic on campus facilities at the Edge and children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports including football, racquet sports, climbing & swimming. The camp activities are delivered by individuals with Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications in Camp Assistant & Camp Leader roles.

As a Camp Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the organisation and coordination of the camp during the delivery phase in both March/ April & July/ August 2026. This will include working alongside our staff team to ensure you have a full understanding of all of our policies and processes before the camps go live and supporting with the administrative planning & preparation needed.

During the course of the camps, you will be responsible for daily tasks such as creating registers and activity rotas, coordinating specialist activities and creating resources. You will support our Camp Manager and help ensure the camp schedule is followed as closely as possible; this may include supervising lunchtime and breaks, escorting children to specialist activities such as swimming & climbing and tidying up between activities; ensuring the health & safety of all participants at all times and maintaining high standards throughout.You will implement all of our policies and procedures to a high standard at all times as well as role modelling excellent and consistent standards and behaviours in line with the University values.You will gain valuable experience in planning & organisation, engaging children in a positive way and managing a large customer facing operation.

The Camp Coordinator will be required to work for a period of 8 weeks (3 weeks at Easter & 5 weeks in summer), encompassing the training and organisation stage of the camps as well as staff training and camp delivery. Camps will run from 8am-5.30pm daily Monday-Friday during the Easter & Summer breaks. Staffing ratios and shift times for any given day will be determined by the number of children we have attending but the Camp Coordinator will need to be available for the duration of the camps. You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role and hours may vary particularly during the course of the lead up period and the camp delivery.
