About the role

Bettys & Taylors Group is seeking a visionary Group Technology & Digital Director to play a vital leadership role in developing our organisation's capabilities, leading our strategic development in information and digital capability, driving resilience, efficiency, and security across the business.

This role will be part of our newly created Group Executive Team, accountable to the Co-CEO, and will work alongside the Managing Directors, Group Finance Director, and Group People Director.

The Group Executive Team (GET) is accountable for:
  • Leadership of the day‑to‑day and near‑term running of the Group.
  • Implementation and delivery of the Group strategies.
  • Insight on how strategic plans are playing out in practice, influencing those closely connected with the development of strategies.
  • Functional delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures secure, efficient technology and digital services across the Group.
  • Manages system maintenance and transformation to support all business functions.
  • Aligns digital capabilities with evolving business and customer needs.
  • Leads strategy across business, data, digital, and tech domains for scalability and integration.
  • Builds and ensures cyber resilience, risk assessment, and incident response across infrastructure and supply chains.
  • Ensures data integrity, compliance (e.g., GDPR), and enables data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Drives digital innovation in customer platforms and collaborates with commercial teams.
  • Engages with digital providers and innovation ecosystems to build external awareness and enhance capabilities.
  • Promotes innovation, learning, and succession within the Digital & Technology function.
  • Actively contributes to the Group Executive Team and strategic network to ensure strategic and operational cohesion.
About You – candidates should be:
  • A senior leader with a proven track record in IT and digital transformation, operational resilience, and e‑commerce platforms.
  • Technically adept across IT, enterprise architecture, digital, and data ecosystems.
  • Experienced in leading large, cross‑functional teams and driving innovation at Executive and Board level.
  • Skilled in cyber security strategy, customer engagement, and enabling digital revenue growth.
  • Emotionally intelligent, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally.
  • Able to influence skilfully at all levels, including Board and Co‑CEO.
  • Able to engage with and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Up‑to‑date with the latest digital trends and technologies, passionate about organisational resilience and growth.

This is a demanding, full‑time role, based at our main site at Plumpton Park in Harrogate, HG2 7LD. We would be happy to discuss flexible working patterns, including hybrid working, and ideally this would include c.3 days per week on site at Plumpton Park.
