A leading engineering firm in Cheltenham is seeking a Group Accountant to ensure the integrity of financial reporting. This role involves working with Group finance teams, maintaining the TM1 system, and improving financial processes. Ideal candidates should be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with advanced Excel skills, ready to engage in a dynamic environment. The position offers flexible working arrangements and attractive benefits including a competitive salary, comprehensive healthcare, and a supportive workplace culture.
Group Accountant
Reporting to the Group Head of Consolidation & Reporting, the Group Accountant will work closely with the Group Consolidation & Reporting Manager and the Group Analyst to ensure the accuracy and integrity of TM1 (IBM financial consolidation system). TM1 plays a key governance and financial reporting role as the Group’s financial consolidation system that is used by over 200 individual reporting entities within the Spirax Group. The role supports the team’s maintenance, configuration and strategic development of TM1. The Group’s recent track record of high growth, combined with the increasing demands of external governance, reporting and disclosure requirements mean that this is a crucial role within Group Finance as the TM1 system is relied upon as the key facilitator of internal and external financial reporting. In addition to the relevant expertise in modelling, analysing and interpreting large data sets, the successful candidate should be able to accurately create, reconcile and present financial data. The role will be responsible for triaging requests for support from the Group operating companies and assisting with correcting errors and easing the submission process burden, by ensuring all reporting is as accurate and reliable as possible to meet the Groups reporting deadlines. The candidate will get exposure to the local finance teams within the Group operating businesses and the wider Group Finance functions whilst creating additional reporting for the Tax, Treasury and Statutory teams.
