Job description

We're seeking a Graduate Systems Simulations Engineer to complement the skill set within the department with multi‑body modelling and optimisation skills.

As a Systems Simulations graduate, you will support the development of multi‑physics system models, covering areas such as mechanical, thermal, and fluid dynamics. Using tools like Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SimScape and Dymola you will help build and run simulations to solve engineering problems. This role offers the chance to learn from experienced engineers, gain hands‑on experience with co‑simulation techniques, and grow into a specialist in system‑level modelling and optimisation.

Reporting to a principal systems simulation engineer you will be responsible for tasks which could include:

  • Simulation and lap‑time optimisation of a variety of car components to boost performance and efficiency. These systems could be:
  • Suspension systems
  • Cooling system
  • Brake system
  • Multibody mechanical components
  • Fuel System
  • Analysis of existing components to aid understanding or improve design.
  • Analysis of certain aspects of car performance to help improve.
  • Liaise with other departments to assist in the design process

Qualifications
  • Completed a degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Computational Engineering)
  • Strong aptitude for coding and simulation tools (essential)
  • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Previous experience in the simulation and optimisation of mechanical/multibody systems.
  • Good knowledge/understanding of vehicle/race car systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of MathWorks MATLAB and Python tools is required.
  • Knowledge of Dymola or an alternative physical modelling environment would be desirable.
