Graduate Mechanical Engineer at 7 Steel UK

Do you want to put your Mechanical Engineering degree to good use? Whether you have just graduated or graduated a few years ago, you will quickly learn what it is to be an Engineer.

Working hands‑on alongside experienced Engineers, you’ll be learning about some of the largest pieces of kit you’ll find in the industry – from cranes to furnaces.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage mechanical activities (e.g. planned maintenance programmes, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimise breakdowns and malfunctions.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and followed.
  • Estimate the cost, time and resources required for repair and improvement projects.
  • Work directly with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure the effective running of the process.

It’s a challenging environment but one where you will have continuous opportunities to develop your skills. There’s never a dull day. It won’t be long until you’re working independently and managing your own workload.
