Role and responsibilities

What the role involves: Working on a diverse range of projects to provide strategic fire safety advice across the UK for the whole construction sector (commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure). You will work within a team of skilled engineers and participate in the project lifecycle from concept design through to construction. You will collaborate with clients and external stakeholders, deliver presentations, and contribute to design team meetings to ensure designs follow the agreed fire strategies.

Day-to-day activities (with support from a Senior Fire Engineer):

• Attend design team meetings internally and externally.
• Review and mark up design proposals.
• Liaise with design team members (Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health Engineers), Architects and clients.
• Provide critical thinking to support the design team in addressing Fire Safety challenges.
• Produce technical reports to support the design through the approval process.
• Undertake detailed Fire Engineering analysis including computer modelling tools (e.g., CFD and Evacuation).
• Liaise with Approving Authorities.
