A leading consultancy firm in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic Energy Graduate to join their Energy Consulting team in London. You will consult on energy use and contribute to low-carbon strategies to tackle climate change. Ideal candidates are passionate about sustainability, possess strong communication skills, and have a degree in energy-related engineering or environmental science. The role starts in Autumn 2026, providing opportunities for mentorship and growth.
Join our collaborative Energy Consulting team and help design solutions that make cities and communities more resilient. From transforming infrastructure to tackling the climate emergency, you’ll play a vital role in creating a low‑carbon future.
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Energy Graduate to join our Bath or London teams. This role will see you consulting on energy use in individual buildings through to national level energy strategy.
We have four Energy Consulting Graduate roles available for an Autumn 2026 start.
At Buro Happold, we believe diverse perspectives drive innovation. Our award‑winning Energy Consulting team brings together engineers, analysts, consultants, and geographers in an inclusive environment where ideas are valued, and creativity thrives. You’ll receive mentorship, work on meaningful projects, and contribute to solutions that matter for society.
We’re passionate about guiding clients towards low‑carbon, cost‑effective solutions that meet the challenges of climate change. Our work spans from individual buildings to national energy strategies, giving you exposure to projects at every scale.
We are one of the few consultant Energy teams that offer opportunities to work at the full scale of projects both nationally and internationally, including four key lines of project service and examples of our work:
Energy Planning and Strategy – Energy planning at scale, Local Area Energy plans, Community Energy schemes and Masterplanning helping our clients plot the best way forward using innovative techniques in mapping and big data
Campus and Estate energy transition – modelling, designing campus scale systems (Universities, hospitals, science parks etc.) and helping our clients transition to resilient net zero carbon solutions
Energy Systems Design and Delivery – district energy feasibility studies and design, re‑configuring the way we generate and capture waste heat (e.g., data centres, and cooling recovery) to distribute and use energy in heating, cooling and power systems. We design across the system including energy centres, buried networks and building connections.
Utilities strategy, commercialisation and procurement – providing economic and commercial modelling, advice and utility connections support.
Our projects span the full lifecycle – from research and origination to design and implementation – with one common goal: delivering a high‑value, high‑performing, low‑carbon future for our clients and society.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.
When you join Buro Happold you are embedded into an exciting network of engineers and consultants that supports your career development.
