As Governance Services Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation’s senior decision-making forums, working closely with Board and Committee members to ensure meetings are well-run, compliant and impactful.This is a great opportunity for a governance professional who enjoys working at the heart of an organisation, balancing structure with collaboration, and who takes pride in delivering high-quality governance support that helps leaders make confident, well-informed decisions.**What you’ll do**As Governance Services Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the effective operation of Notting Hill Genesis’s governance framework. Working closely with the Head of Governance and the Director of Governance and Compliance, you will provide high-quality, proactive support to the Group Board, Committees and Shareholders.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance professional who enjoys managing complex governance activity, coordinating senior stakeholders, and ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory and statutory obligations. You will be at the heart of NHG’s decision-making processes, helping to ensure strong governance, transparency and compliance across the Group.**How you’ll do it*** Lead the planning and delivery of NHG’s governance calendar, including Board and committee meetings, training, inductions, and associated logistics* Provide governance support to at least one committee, including agenda preparation, minuting meetings, recording decisions, and maintaining accurate records* Support the organisation and administration of AGMs, general meetings and special general meetings* Deliver timely and appropriate communications to Board members, Shareholders and relevant internal stakeholders* Support the recruitment, induction, appraisal and retirement processes for Board, committee and joint venture members* Maintain and improve governance systems, processes and records, taking a digital-first and continuous-improvement approach* Support learning and development activity for Board and committee members, including training records, skills mapping and succession planning* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes of governance and internal policies* Manage governance inbox queries on a rota basis and process Board expenses and remuneration arrangementsHybrid working applies, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.**The ideal candidate**We’re looking for someone who brings strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.Essential experience and skills:* Proven experience working with stakeholders at all levels* Experience supporting meetings, events and formal decision-making processes* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including minute-taking and document preparation* Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion* Excellent planning, prioritisation and time-management skills* Strong IT skills, including MS Word and Excel* Understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) the governance and regulatory environment of social housingBehaviours for success:You will live our values and bring them to life through your work:* Compassionate – putting people and residents at the heart of decisions.* Progressive – striving for continuous improvement and innovation.* Dependable – consistently delivering high-quality, reliable outcomes.* Inclusive – valuing diversity and collaboration across all teams.* Empowered – enabling others to achieve their best.Once you join us, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow within our organisation.
