Job Title: Governance Co-ordinator (hybrid/flexible working)

Location: London

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Overview of the Role: We are looking for a Governance Co-ordinator to support the work of the RHS Secretariat, in delivering the charity’s important governance function. You will be part of a small busy team, responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the calendar of meetings and events each year and working closely with the charity’s senior leaders including its trustees, Board and Committee members and the RHS Leadership Team. This team is crucial to fulfilling our governance and statutory requirements and offers a great opportunity to grow in governance experience. The work is varied and interesting, sitting within the Director General’s Office.

Reporting to the Company Secretary, the Governance Co-ordinator will support the Secretariat team in ensuring the logistics of the governance calendar are delivered alongside day to day communications with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

There will be plenty of opportunity to get involved with a wide variety of governance linked projects as well as events and visits to RHS gardens.

The most important experience, skills and attributes required for the Governance Co-ordinator are:

  • Highly organised, able to work accurately on varied tasks and prioritise effectively to ensure that key stakeholders receive excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate and engage with different audiences including at a senior level. Written work includes agendas, action logs, detailed calendars of meetings, minutes on occasion and reporting templates.
  • Strong data management skills with the ability to maintain and analyse accurate datasets and update internal databases.
  • Highly collaborative – able to work effectively within a small team and positively engage and influence stakeholders across the organisation and beyond.
  • Proactive, productive and organised – keen on getting things done and confident to work under own initiative.
