We have an immediate need for a Counsellor working within our gambling service. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week over 5 days with hours to include 2 evenings.

Role Overview

As a Counselling Practitioner within Ara’s gambling services, you will provide individual counselling by telephone, Teams and face‑to‑face for clients affected by harmful gambling. You will work to Ara’s gambling service guidelines, providing counselling interventions for self‑referenced clients to the service. The role is based in South Wales; Welsh speaking is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual counselling to clients affected by harmful gambling within the treatment structure outlined by Ara’s gambling service.
  • Ensure appropriate systems are in place to collect relevant data following client contact and maintain records to meet organisational needs.
  • Undertake risk management processes and assessment of risk.
  • Develop risk management plans and share information as appropriate in the best interest of the client and the organisation.
