About the role

Join us at Fireship, one of the biggest software engineering and tech channels on YouTube, known for its high-energy, fast-paced tutorials and breakdowns of programming, software development, and technology trends. With a loyal following of over 3.8 million subscribers, Fireship specializes in delivering bite-sized, informative, and entertaining tech content that makes complex topics easy to understand.

We are looking for talented and creative freelance Video Editors to join our remote content production team. The ideal candidates will have experience in story-based video editing and a strong interest in technology, coding, and development. Experience creating tutorial-based or tech-oriented videos is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the production and video editing of Fireship’s YouTube content to increase output and engagement.
• Source, select, and import relevant media elements to enhance scripts and voice overs into dynamic videos.
• Collaborate with creators and scriptwriters to ensure alignment with storytelling vision, producing high-quality work.
• Maintain organized project files for seamless collaboration.
• Stay updated with internet culture and tech news.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing with a strong portfolio, especially for YouTube and short-form content that tells a story.
• Confidence in keyframe animation for ‘faceless’ videos.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Attention to detail to ensure consistency with Fireship branding and elevate production quality.
• Experience with programming or tech content is highly desirable, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• A passion for technology, coding, and digital content creation, with awareness of industry trends.
• Familiarity with YouTube as a primary media source for education and entertainment, aiming to maximize engagement.
