Fostering Assessments Practice Supervisor

Job location:
North Yorkshire

Salary: From £47,181 to £51,356 per annum pro rata

Grade: M

Vacancy Hours: Part time (18.5 hours)

Contract: Permanent

Location: North/West, North Yorkshire (based to be discussed at interview)

Are you an experienced Social Work professional with a passion for fostering and improving outcomes for children? Join our Fostering Service as a Practice Supervisor and help us continue our outstanding work in supporting local children in local placements.

The fostering service continues to embed its core values of providing and supporting local children in local placements. We are extremely proud of our Children and Families Ofsted report, rating us as ‘Outstanding’ in all provisions across our children’s social care services.

About the Role

You will join a small, dedicated team of Social Work professionals who work within the wider fostering team. The focus of this team is on:

  • Assessments of foster carers
  • Annual reviews of foster carers

You’ll also collaborate with practice supervisors, team managers, support workers, and business support colleagues to deliver exceptional services.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience in fostering and a strong understanding of the assessment process.
  • Knowledge of the impact of childhood adverse trauma.
  • Supervisory or management experience is advantageous.
  • Commitment to building positive working relationships with fostering families and partner agencies.

In addition, you should be familiar with the statutory requirements of fostering assessments and the ongoing approval of foster carers.

The successful candidate will join a county fostering service committed to developing excellent practice in line with the National Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
