Position description
This is not a traditional sales engineering role. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you are at the intersection of code, our clients, and their missions. You will be deployed to strategic partners, embedding within their environments to solve high-stakes problems that have no textbook answers.

You own the "last mile" of our product’s impact, ensuring our technology transforms how users address challenges such as financial crime, supply chain disruption, and threats to national security. You are equal parts engineer, strategist, and operator. You might architect a data pipeline in a client’s cloud, write production Python to integrate our API into a proprietary analytics platform, or brief executives and analysts on outcomes your work enabled. You thrive on ambiguity, operate with extreme ownership, and are relentless in delivering real-world value. You will act as a conduit between the front lines and core engineering teams, turning bespoke solutions into scalable features of Sayari’s product suite.

Responsibilities

• Embed and Build: Deploy into clients’ technical ecosystems, understand workflows, environments, and mission challenges. Design, build, and ship production-grade code. Write robust Python applications, advanced SQL, and leverage Sayari APIs to solve bespoke challenges at the edge.
• Own the Outcome: Lead the technical lifecycle of strategic deployments from discovery and design to implementation and operationalization. Ensure the platform delivers tangible, mission-critical value.
• Be the Tip of the Spear: Serve as the primary technical authority for clients. Lead deep-dive technical workshops, debug complex systems, and advise on how to leverage Sayari’s platform for investigations and missions.
• Engineer Solutions for the Mission: Translate high-level mission requirements into concrete technical solutions. Architect scalable data models and workflows, including building data pipelines into client persistence layers (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and developing custom Python scripts or prototyping AI/ML models.
• Shape Our Product: Translate real-world needs and feedback into the next generation of Sayari’s platform, acting as a conduit between the front lines and core engineering teams.

Skills & Experience

Required Skills & Experiences:

• 5+ years in a client-facing, technical role (Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, etc.).
• Proven ability to write clean, production-ready code with strong Python proficiency and data manipulation skills (Pandas, etc.).
• Deep fluency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience consuming, integrating, and reasoning about RESTful APIs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to bridge code and mission with engineers, analysts, and senior leaders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous, complex scenarios.
• Relentless drive and intellectual curiosity; ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
• Focus on government missions (Intelligence Community, Defense, Law Enforcement, Regulatory).
• Must be a UK citizen.

Desired Skills & Experiences:

• Experience leveraging AI, including prompting LLMs or using their APIs to build analytical solutions.
• Experience building and deploying solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with the modern data stack (Snowflake, Databricks) and workflow orchestrators (Airflow, Prefect).
• Knowledge of graph data technologies (Neo4j, TigerGraph) and their query languages.
• Exposure to machine learning applications, especially NLP or entity resolution.
• Experience in high-stakes domains such as AML/Financial Crime, Supply Chain Risk, or National Security.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Compensation
The target base salary for this position is £120,000 - £135,000 plus a 15% quarterly bonus and equity. Final offer amounts are determined by factors including location, local market variances, candidate experience, internal equity, and may vary from listed amounts.
