Job summary

A leading global industrial company is seeking a skilled individual to join their Redditch facility as a Compressor Assembler. In this role, you'll be responsible for building high-pressure compressor blocks, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Job description
Responsibilities
  • To build high pressure, reciprocating compressor blocks of various sizes within the designated time frames, to high standards.
  • Build a wide variety of sub-assemblies for compressors and aftermarket use
  • To build custom engineered compressor sets with limited instruction.
  • Accurately read and interpret general arrangement drawings, manuals and written instructions in order to produce a quality product.
  • To ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to and requirements are maintained.
  • To assist in problem solving and potentially repair compressors in the event of test failures.
  • Work in a lean environment and continually strive to improve the work environment and methods.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required within the scope of the role.
  • Building of reciprocating compressors
  • Fitting / assembling of piston compressors / engines.
  • Use of lifting equipment
  • Use of computer equipment
Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of fitting techniques, such as roller bearing fitting, piston/cylinder assembly etc.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings & written instructions
  • Working to lean practices and techniques
