Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly Group balance sheet reports and reconciliations.
  • Support the Management Accountant with analysis and delivery of Management Accounts.
  • Lead preparation of Group Financial Accounts.
  • Assist Finance Partner with consolidation of Group Accounts.
  • Review and sign-off updated Partner’s drawings schedules.
  • Prepare quarterly summaries of partner capital and loan accounts.

Team Overview

The Finance team has approximately 9 people and look after the firm’s financial matters. It plays a huge role in supporting the business on a day-to-day basis. The team is relied upon to provide timely and accurate financial statistics, reports, and accounts.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our established team to provide daily, flexible, proactive support to the Finance Team, contributing to the efficiency of the team and services provided to the firm.

The main duties of this role will include the development of balance sheet reporting, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and delivering the monthly balance sheet reports to the firm as part of the management accounts.

The ideal candidate will have trained and qualified (ACA) within an audit firm.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly Group balance sheet reports, as well as monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the Management Accountant with analysis and to help ensure the timely delivery of the monthly Management Accounts
  • Play a leading role in the preparation of the Group Financial Accounts, ensuring that the tight deadlines following the Basis Period Change are met.
  • Support the Finance Partner with the consolidation of the Group Accounts
  • Stay on top of relevant financial reporting standards and share knowledge with other members of the Finance team.
  • Review the updated Partner’s drawings (excel) schedules before sign-off by the Finance Partner.
  • Prepare quarterly summaries of partner capital, loan and current accounts, including those for corporate partners.
  • To prepare and host annual training for the Finance team on the ICAEW Clients’ Money Regulations (“CMR”).
  • Become a competent user of our Practice Management System, Practice Engine (“PE”), and be able to be self-sufficient in investigating queries and extracting information required for balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide general assistance and support to the wider Finance Team, and provide cover as required during team members’ holiday and absence.

  • Qualified ACA
  • Experience of working as an Auditor

  • Advanced Excel, intermediate Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of working with recognised accounts packages
  • Caseware experience is advantageous
