• Lead day-to-day finance operations and ensure accurate reporting.
• Develop a small team of two finance professionals.
• Oversee month-end close and management account preparation.
• Manage cashflow, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with VAT return preparation and submission.

Our client, a specialist retail group based in Preston with a £50m turnover and offices across Europe, is entering an exciting period of growth. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to build out the finance function and work closely with the Financial Controller as the business scales.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and would suit either an experienced Finance Manager who’s looking for a new challenge, or an experienced Management Accountant looking to step up into their first Finance Manager position.

Salary:£50,000 – £55,000

About the Role –Reporting into the Financial Controller, you’ll lead the day-to-day finance operations, ensure accurate reporting, and develop a small team of 2.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:

• Ownership of month-end close and preparation of management accounts
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Providing insightful commentary to help drive decision-making
• Take ownership of VAT return preparation, review, and submission, maintaining strong compliance and audit trails
• Line management and development of two direct reports
• Oversee effective Accounts Payable processing
• Drive continuous improvements across processes, controls and reporting

Key Skills and Experience Required –

• ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (QBE also considered with strong experience)
• Proven month-end reporting and analysis skills
• Previous experience in a similar Finance Manager / Accounting role
• Confident ability
