Thank you for your patience during this update**The Role:** Finance Assistant (Payroll & Pensions)**About:** The Finance Directorate has an opportunity for a Finance assistant to join our Payroll and Pension team.The post holder should have experience of working within the payroll environment and preferably an understanding of pension administration. Working to tight deadlines the post holder will also need to be agile and support their colleagues as required. The University is now operating in a new Finance, Payroll and HR System (Workday), System knowledge of workday and service now would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. As a small team we work closely with colleagues in other departments and external providers such as the pension schemes.**Duties:** · Assist in processing the payroll (gross to net) in an accurate and timely manner· Assist in the maintenance of master data of employees and contracts held within the payroll and pension environments· Assist in the maintenance of employee data such as NI, tax records and bank details· Assist the payroll and pension manager with interfaces relating to other systems both internal and external· Complete all paperwork, both manually and online, for new starters, leavers and amendments· Access and interpret information from the University HR and Payroll system This post is offered on the University of Hull pay Band 4 - UO16 to UO19 - £26,707 to £28,778 per annum.The post is offered at full time (36.5 hours) continuing.Please note the post will close at 00:01am on Monday 5th January 2026.
