Job summary

A small Multi Academy Trust seeks a part-time Finance Assistant in Halstead. Position Start Date: 01/03/2026 Contract Type: Part-time Contract Term: Permanent

Scale 3 - Point 5-6 depending on experience.

2 days a week 15 hours (8.30am - 4.30pm) working at either St. Andrew's in Halstead or Feering Primary School initially for 2 days per week.

38 weeks per year (Term time only) - to start as soon as possible.

We are a small Multi Academy Trust consisting of two very friendly schools and appointments are made to allow working across both schools wherever possible. We would be open to this being an apprenticeship post if further study in the area interests you.

Finance Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join the MAT and the ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally, have experience of working in a fast-paced office environment and have used a computerised finance system. Knowledge of the PS Financials accounting system would be an advantage, however training will be given.
  • Be calm, with a professional and confident manner and enthusiasm to support the team. Be keen to progress and have a future interest in School Business Management.
  • Be organised, and demonstrate high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, have strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively with others.
  • Be able to work on own initiative with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet the deadlines associated with the role and open to learn to take direction from others.

The Trust is currently assessing the scope and level of support services required, so there is potential for further development of this role as the work is progressed.
