We currently have an opening for a Finance to join our Hotel Accounting team.

The Role

Finance Manager – Glasgow

As a Finance Manager in AAB’s Hotel Accounting business you will support the Senior Manager and Directors, assuming responsibility for the team responsible for producing monthly management accounts and related reports for hotel clients.

You will be responsible for the quality and service delivery of all management accounting services, and in order to provide a high standard of service to all clients we expect you and the rest of the team to develop a strong understanding of our client’s business, provide clients with actionable insight, and help drive efficiencies within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of Finance Assistants and Management Accountants, including training, performance management, and ongoing coaching and development.
  • Delegate tasks effectively across the team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee daily operational processes and reconciliations, including AP tasks, payment run processes, and daily bank reconciliations.
  • Control the monthly management accounts cycle for designated clients, including creation and adherence of set timelines, processes and controls.
  • Ensure accurate processing of invoices, payroll, bank rec and ledger maintenance handled by Finance Assistants and Management Accountants, through regular and documented review processes.
  • Detailed reviews of Management Accounts, including feedback, follow up and communication of progress to Management Accountants and Clients.
  • Responsible for review and approval of Balance Sheets and timely communication of completed files to clients.
  • Ensure policies, controls, and procedures are aligned with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop systems and process controls to provide a robust internal control environment which meets client needs.
  • Develop professional and valued relationships with clients, identifying areas where there are opportunities to add value and ongoing improvement.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, helping you and your team generate ideas to develop processes and controls.
  • Complete ad hoc accounting and project work as required – including new client set up, bespoke client reporting requests, and investigation and support of client issues.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, news, and the challenges faced by potential clients, which helps you offer timely and relevant solutions.
