Overview

Field Service Engineer – IQS Technical Service at Carl Zeiss IQS Ltd. Location: Field-based (UK) with occasional travel to Ireland and Europe. This role involves working with cutting-edge Coordinate Measurement, Optical, and X-ray systems, supporting installations, calibrations, and service operations across the UK and beyond.


Responsibilities


  • Install and commission new or relocated CMMs, Optical, and X-ray systems.

  • Respond to machine breakdowns and provide remote support to customers.

  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Complete and upload calibration protocols, worksheets, and reports to Salesforce CRM.

  • Manage spare parts ordering and returns in coordination with stores.

  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Support shift-based uptime requests and travel arrangements as needed.


Qualifications & Skills


  • Experience in servicing and calibrating high-precision measurement systems.

  • Background in customer-facing technical support roles.

  • Familiarity with installation and commissioning of complex equipment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and SAP for reporting and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently and manage travel logistics.

  • Technical qualifications in engineering or a related field are desirable.
