Job summary

A care support provider in Cannock is seeking a dedicated Female Personal Support/Care Worker to assist a client with Motor Neurone Disease. This role offers 18 hours per week with flexible shifts and requires experience in personal care and excellent communication skills. Personal Support / Care Worker for lady with MND - Cannock - £13.38 per hour - Days

Are you passionate about providing life-changing care? We’re looking for a dedicated Female Complex Care Assistant to join our compassionate team in the Cannock area, where you\'ll have the opportunity to support one individual client in a truly meaningful way.

In this unique role, you’ll be working closely with a person living with Motor Neurone Disease, helping them maintain their independence and live life to the fullest – both at home and out in the community.

You’ll be part of a small, friendly team providing 1:1 or 2:1 support, depending on the shift. If you\'re looking for a role where your care makes a personal and powerful impact, we’d love to hear from you!

About Salvere Support

Here at Salvere Support we support individual clients in their own homes. Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person centered care to really make a difference in our clients lives. You’ll only be working with one client which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.

You must be comfortable with pets as there are several cats in the clients home.

Your contracted hours

18 hours a week. There is a mixture of shifts and there is some flexibility in the days of the week worked, which can be discussed at interview. Alternative weekends will be required.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for

You must be self motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

  • Personal care, support to manage incontinence, and measures to maintain a good skin state.
  • Catheter Care.
  • Moving and Handling (including hoisting and position changes).
  • Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, cooking nutritious meals).
  • Gastrostomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluid and medication.
  • Monitoring of general health and well being, and daily record keeping.
  • Providing support around meal times due to the client\'s dysphagia.
You should also have
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
