A local council in Chatham is seeking a Family Solutions Practitioner to lead interventions for families. This permanent, full-time position involves managing a team and collaborating with partners for effective support. Candidates should have relevant qualifications such as GCSEs in English and Maths, and experience with children and families. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Medway Family Solutions Service as part of the wider Family Solutions agenda for the position of a Family Solutions Practitioner.
You will work alongside the Hub Manager and lead delivery of early help interventions and targeted support to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. You will manage a team of Family Solutions Practitioners, provide supervision and expert advice, and give critical oversight of cases. Your role includes working closely with partners who help devise and implement timely interventions and programmes with children, young people and their families.
You will have GCSEs at level 5 or above in English and Maths, together with an NVQ 4 in working with families with multiple or complex needs or another relevant discipline. You should have experience of working with children, young people and families and leading and managing teams. Demonstrated knowledge of Signs of Safety or a similar relationship and strengths‑based practice framework would be an advantage.
Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. The framework supports employees to take ownership of their development and to be rewarded accordingly. The starting salary is at level A, with opportunities to progress to levels B and C based on demonstrated competence, experience and qualifications. The role is at level A, with full support through induction, probation and performance appraisal.
