At Dalkia UK, we deliver innovative energy solutions that support decarbonisation and long-term sustainability. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to play a pivotal role at Project Development stage, working closely with our Business Development and Technical teams.

This is an opportunity to get involved early from concept and feasibility through to early design helping shape commercially sound, deliverable and affordable projects across our energy services portfolio.

In this role, you won’t just price projects. You’ll influence strategy, challenge assumptions and provide the cost clarity that enables confident investment decisions.

The role

You’ll work at the front end of projects, providing insight and structure at the point where it matters most. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Business Development and Technical teams to build robust outline estimates from early-stage information including concept and feasibility designs
  • Providing clear cost insight to support affordability, investment decisions and risk management
  • Compiling and analysing data from multiple sources to produce accurate, structured cost estimates
  • Evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure value and competitiveness
  • Estimating labour, materials, plant and equipment costs across energy and construction projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation to fully understand scope and risk
  • Working collaboratively with Project Managers and key stakeholders throughout development
  • Identifying, assessing and clearly communicating cost risks and opportunities
  • Producing post-project cost reports to strengthen benchmarking and future accuracy
  • Managing tender governance requirements and ensuring internal estimating standards are met

As our business continues to grow, this role will evolve, offering variety and ongoing professional development.

What we’re looking for
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the energy services or construction sector
  • Experience in one or more of the following: commercial refurbishment, energy efficiency projects, heat networks, energy centres or MEP works
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience building estimates from early-stage or incomplete design information
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • A structured, commercially focused and solutions-oriented approach
Why join Dalkia?
  • Play a key role in shaping sustainable energy solutions from the outset
  • Influence project viability, commercial strategy and long-term success
  • Collaborate with experienced technical and commercial teams
  • Contribute to projects that support the UK’s energy transition

If you enjoy working at the front end of projects and want your expertise to directly influence sustainable outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
