Overview

Required to support the operations of Environmental Services, helping the council to deliver its purpose of creating a clean, safe and accessible environment, ensuring work is prioritised according to what matters to our residents and to always work to ensure service is delivered ‘right first time’.

Responsibilities

You will work flexibly dependent on the day to day needs of each service which will involve sweeping, collection and removal of all litter, dirt, leaves and weeds; the removal of fly tipped material i.e. furniture, household waste, tyres, white goods and garden waste. Co-ordinating with the Enforcement Team as necessary. Undertaking general maintenance work to green space sites including grass cutting, hedge and shrub pruning and also weeding to beds and boarders; maintaining street furniture including power wash and cleaning; maintaining street furniture including power wash and cleaning and cleaning duties of public toilets and recreational changing rooms by moping, scrubbing, sweeping out using cleaning materials and equipment.

Qualifications

Candidates will need experience in environmental operations together with good interpersonal skills and a clear understanding of what matters to local residents in terms of environmental quality.
