What You’ll Do

Avalara is seeking a Senior Sales Executive to drive new business growth across the UK, Ireland and The Nordics. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on acquiring enterprise customers and expanding Avalara’s footprint across a rapidly evolving tax and compliance landscape.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished consultative seller, comfortable engaging with the Office of the CFO, and Senior IT Directors, as well as other C-suite leaders to position Avalara’s multi-product tax compliance platform as a key enabler of digital transformation and global scale.

Beyond regional expertise, this individual will possess or quickly acquire global tax domain knowledge, including U.S. sales and use tax, and understand how emerging technologies like Agentic AI are transforming automation, accuracy, and decision-making in compliance management.

  • Lead strategic sales engagements with C-level stakeholders, aligning Avalara’s value proposition with their operational and growth priorities.
  • Position and sell Avalara’s multi-product suite, including VAT, sales tax, cross-border compliance, and other automation solutions, as an integrated compliance platform.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership on Agentic AI’s role in compliance, helping clients understand how intelligent, autonomous systems can enhance tax accuracy, monitoring, and global scalability.
  • Develop territory and account strategies aligned with Avalara’s global growth goals and local market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, alliances, and partner teams to drive localized campaigns, nurture the ERP (particularly SAP) and technology partner ecosystem, and accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to influence Avalara’s product innovation and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of UKI and The Nordics tax legislation and a working understanding of international indirect tax frameworks, particularly the U.S.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
  • Proven track record of success in complex, consultative B2B sales within SaaS, ERP, FinTech, or tax technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in new business development with consistent quota attainment.
