About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons for students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, communication difficulties, and trauma-related behaviours.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach inspiring English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils in developing literacy, comprehension, and confidence in spoken and written communication.
  • Provide constructive feedback to guide progress and celebrate achievement.
  • Create a positive, therapeutic learning environment where every child feels valued and safe.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists to ensure holistic progress for each learner.
Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified – holding QTS or QTLS (essential).
  • Experienced in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision settings.
  • Passionate about supporting students who may have experienced barriers to learning.
  • Empathetic and patient, with a commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed practice.
