English Specialist Teacher – Behavioural School
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: January
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified English Specialist Teacher (QTS required) to join a behavioural school in Scarborough starting in January. This is an exciting opportunity to teach and inspire students in a supportive and structured environment, helping them engage with English and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to students with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Manage classroom behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work closely with TAs and school leadership to support learning and student development.
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience teaching English in secondary or alternative provision settings
  • Understanding of SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in a challenging environment
