Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with complex tax legislation and HMRC interpretations.
  • Support employment tax aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Research case law and prepare technical analyses.

  • Manage HMRC liaison and dispute work.
  • Draft client advice, reports, and HMRC correspondence.
  • Lead client meetings where appropriate.
  • Support junior team members and contribute to team culture.

Our client is a highly respected national advisory practice with a standout employment tax offering across the North. Following significant growth and consistent new wins in the advisory and transactions space, they are now looking to expand their Employment Tax team with ambitious Consultants and Senior Consultants.

Your new role

As an Employment Tax Consultant / Senior Consultant, you'll work closely with senior leadership and a high‑performing advisory team, delivering complex employment tax advice to clients ranging from fast‑growing mid‑market businesses to large multinationals.

You will support and lead on advisory projects, HMRC interactions, due diligence work, remuneration reviews, and technical research, with opportunities to take ownership of relationships and support business development as you progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting clients in understanding complex tax legislation and HMRC interpretations
  • Supporting employment tax aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligences
  • Researching case law and preparing technical analyses
  • Advising on employee remuneration: salary, equity, benefits, expenses
  • Managing HMRC liaison and dispute work
  • Drafting client advice, reports, and HMRC correspondence
  • Participating in client meetings and leading where appropriate
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to an inclusive team culture
Qualifications
  • ATT qualified, and either ACA/CTA part‑qualified or qualified (or equivalent)
