Location: MOD Imjin Barracks / DE&S Ashchurch / MOD Boddington

We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join our on‑site engineering team at Imjin Barracks, and Ashchurch. You will play a vital role in delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across mission‑critical Defence sites, where precision, reliability, and professionalism are essential.

About the role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will manage your daily tasks through a tablet or work order system, ensuring that every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Your work will involve carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, completing compliance activity and minor works in line with JSP375, and taking part in refurbishment projects. You will be expected to review and apply Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), identify and report defects or improvement opportunities, and support the team by mentoring apprentices. The role also includes participation in an on‑call rota to provide emergency response for mission‑critical systems outside normal working hours. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to make a tangible impact within an important Defence environment.

What you will need

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or a JIB card applicable to the task) and City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations. Basic knowledge of F Gas and City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing is desirable. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as travel between sites will be required. Experience working in a MOD, construction, or property maintenance environment would be beneficial. You must also be able to obtain SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
