Job description

With its Midlands branch based in Leicester, Intelect is known for delivering turnkey solutions, from design and automation to fabrication, electrical/mechanical engineering, and control systems.

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will lead projects from inception to completion, delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across our key sectors: quarry & building materials, power generation & distribution, plus food & drink manufacturing.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing full project lifecycle – concept, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Quoting, tender negotiation, and commercial management
  • Planning and allocating labour, ensuring resources meet project demands
  • Leading or coordinating electrical design (schematics, protection, layouts)
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
  • Overseeing health and safety compliance (site standards, RAMS, risk assessments)
  • Monitoring and reporting on project performance (cost, timeline, risk)

We are looking for someone with the following experience and qualifications:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Electrician or Electrical Engineer
  • Proven experience managing electrical projects (especially in quarry, utilities/power Distribution, and food & drink sectors)
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems: distribution, switchgear, design, control panels
  • Skilled in labour planning and site resource management
  • Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen
  • Full UK driving licence

Health & Safety Expertise

  • High-level H&S experience – you’ll have oversight on site safety
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme) qualification or equivalent

Design Skills

  • Comfortable using design software (e.g. AutoCAD, CAD tools, electrical calculation packages)

Personal Attributes

  • Self-driven and proactive – you take ownership
  • Strong communicator (verbal & written) – able to influence across all levels
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Working Hours

Full time position: Monday – Friday (40 hours)
