About the Role

Based in Dartford, Kent, you’ll play a crucial role ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across the Dartford River Crossing and M25 Tunnels. The role offers varied, hands‑on work, including fault finding, preventative maintenance, and repair of essential infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain and repair critical infrastructure: Switchgear, transformers, pumps, fans, VSDs, lighting, and control gear.
  • Maintain and repair traffic safety systems: sensors, barriers, and traffic signals near the Dartford Tunnels.
  • Diagnose faults, read technical drawings, and carry out repairs independently to minimise downtime.
  • Perform civil, electrical, and mechanical maintenance work to support infrastructure resilience.
  • Adhere to strict Health & Safety regulations and maintain vehicles, plant, and equipment.
  • Attend emergency incidents, working safely and efficiently to restore operations.
  • Collaborate with a skilled, supportive team while embodying Connect Plus Services values.
  • Commit to continuous improvement, learning, and upskilling to grow within your role.
  • Support the company’s Zero Harm initiative and keep safety as the top priority.

We seek a skilled and safety‑conscious Electrical Maintenance Technician with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) – required qualification.
  • Proven experience in electrical fault finding, repair, and maintenance.
  • Commercial or industrial experience in electrical systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Certifications (or Willingness to Train)
  • Authorised Person – HV.
  • MEWPS & IPAF Certification.
  • Confined Spaces Training.
  • Inspection & Testing C&G 2391.
  • CSCS Safety Card.
  • PASMA Certification.
  • G39 (DNO Equipment) Training.
  • Working at Height (Harness Training).
  • First Aid Certification.
