Qualifications

  • Support for EGSE system upgrades including procurement and validation.
  • First-level support for EGSE in the AIT facility.

EGSE Support Engineer – Expleo Group

Expleo Group, a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with offices in the UK, is looking for an EGSE Support Engineer to support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of EGSE in satellite assembly clean rooms at our client site in Stevenage. The successful candidate will have space industry test experience in an engineering or production environment.

The role includes commissioning, validation of performance, operator training, break/fix services and all supporting paperwork for these services. It demands a presence on-site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production of relevant EGSE documentation (e.g., Validation Procedures, Supporting NC reviews)
  • Support for EGSE system upgrades including procurement, prioritisation of manufacturing processes, validation and certification for use in the AIT facility
  • First‑level support for EGSE in the AIT facility: commissioning of hardware, composition of AIT procedures, debug/fault finding, training operators
Qualifications
  • Degree in engineering, ideally with an electrical background
  • Relevant experience in a lower qualification is acceptable where applicable
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge of EGSE/ATE (Power, Data Handling and/or RF)
  • Some scripting skills (e.g., test sequence coding in TCL, knowledge of Central Checkout System CCS5 or similar)
  • Procedure writing
  • Ability to use laboratory test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of coding language
  • Knowledge of S/C database management
  • Experience with Satellite Reference Database (SRDB) / MIB format
  • Requirements Management (e.g., Rational DOORS)
Experience
  • Environmental test/launch campaign experience
  • Satellite avionics and serial data protocols (e.g., RS4xx, MIL‑1553, Spacewire)
  • Procedure and test report writing
  • Non‑conformance reporting
