A leading facilities maintenance firm in Bristol is seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure profitability across contracts. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in a similar role, with strong communication and financial management skills. This role involves acting as the main liaison for clients, maintaining professional relationships, and delivering monthly reports on contract performance. Act as the main liaison for clients and their representatives.
Oversee daily operations of assigned contracts, ensuring profitability and compliance.
Attend client meetings and maintain strong, professional relationships.
Communicate effectively across all formats verbal, written, and digital.
Conduct audits covering documentation, maintenance schedules, health & safety, and financial performance.
Provide monthly reports covering financials, audits, H&S issues, and client feedback.
Collaborate with internal departments on invoicing, labour control, and subcontractor management.
Assist in preparing proposals and quotations for clients.
Ensure all client communications are professional and aligned with company policies.
To effectively carry out or delegate the points as discussed and issues raised by the client on a timely basis and ensure communication of all client issues is passed to the appropriate personnel/departments.
To set up regular meetings with the client based upon the frequency established in relation to the clients KPI’s and/or service levels, client request or Contract expectation.
To regularly review the profitability of their contracts dependent on contract expected turnover as established by the Commercial Team.
Manage aged debt by working with clients and internal teams to resolve outstanding payments and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role is essential
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and profitability.
Knowledge of health & safety regulations and auditing practices.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
