Qualifications

Education Liaison Officer

Location: Oakhill Secure Training Centre, Oakhill, Milton Keynes, MK5 6AJ

Salary range: £24,058.62 - £26,572.03 per annum

Employment type: Permanent – Full‑time (40 hours per week)

About Us: G4S Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC) cares for children aged 12 to 18 years who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The children in our care can be vulnerable and challenging, with a wide range of complex social and emotional needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for children to develop life skills and address previous behaviours. We aim to support change and learning.

About the Role

We are now expanding our Education team and are looking for an Education Liaison Officer to support our young people to recognise their potential by working alongside our children and their professionals to prepare them for future education and work prospects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work alongside external professionals to confirm previous education experience and competency.
  • Attend meetings to support education progress and aspirations during their time in the centre.
  • Work alongside young people and support enrolment into college or work placements.
  • Track data on young people’s placement, education, future plans, and engagement with the ELO.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with young people to fully support them and their education progress.
  • Assist in promoting a positive Health & Safety culture across the site and report accidents and near‑misses in a timely manner, following applicable safe systems of work.
  • Accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level as may be necessary from time to time.

Application Requirements

You must be eligible to work in the UK, have resided in the UK for at least 3 years, and be able to undergo DBS enhanced level security clearance. You will also need to provide full details of your work and educational history covering the last 10 years as part of the screening process.
