We work in community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes to deliver care as close to home as possible.

We actively support anti-racism, equality, diversity and inclusion, and we encourage applications from groups who are under-represented in our workforce. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Our vision is that no matter who you are or where you are, you will tell us that you receive “Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team” and our values are “Caring, safe and excellent”.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the Psychology provision within the Oxford South Locality. On a day-to-day basis, this will include:

  • Offering psychology assessments.
  • Providing psychology consultation to CAMHS clinicians (within and external to the team) and Multiagency services (e.g. social care and schools), enabling collaboration with other professionals to share and disseminate psychological knowledge/understanding.
  • Delivering psychological interventions using a range of models through 1:1 sessions, group programmes and joint parent and young person work. Modalities may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Third Wave CBT, DNA-V (adolescent model for ACT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Compassion Focused Therapy, in line with existing evidence bases.
  • Providing clinical supervision and supporting Psychology Trainees (both CBT trainees and trainee Clinical Psychologists).
  • Engaging in group interventions (including a CBT for OCD group, trauma-focused groups including parent groups, and a DNA-V group).
  • Supporting the duty provision by undertaking the role of duty on a rota basis as shared within the team.
Working for our organisation

Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes. We offer a wide range of benefits to support your career and wellbeing, including:

  • Excellent opportunities for career progression
  • Access to tailored individual and Trust-wide learning and development
  • 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service
  • NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers
  • Lease car scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Mental Health First Aiders
  • Staff accommodation (waiting lists may apply)
  • Staff networking and support groups hosted by our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team
Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The wellbeing of our Administrative and Clinical staff is a priority, with an active Wellbeing Team and regular opportunities for staff support. Supervision is offered in specific therapy modalities, and there are opportunities to develop clinical practice in systemic work. We welcome and support opportunities for consultation and development of staff systemic practice. Training and development are priorities, and we support clinicians who want to challenge themselves and develop their knowledge and skill base.

There are opportunities to contribute to service development, including a more trauma-informed approach for young people and families, timely access following referral, and involvement in service evaluation and research projects. The Trust supports BABCP accreditation and offers supervision and training opportunities to assist this process. Additional development opportunities may include DNV-A, CBT Trauma Focused Therapy and supervision skills, with a culture of skill sharing across CAMHS teams. All development opportunities are considered through the PDR/Appraisal framework.
