We are currently looking for a multi-skilled Production Assistant to support in the production processes at our Head Office & Workshop.
This role will be dynamic, varied and agile by where one day you will be a skilled Sewing or Sampling assistant, producing products and samples to client demand, to stepping in and packing our products beautifully and arrange for the shipment, to maintaining systems and records in our production office. Roger Oates Design has a reputation for quality and wherever the support is required in these four functions, the successful candidate will always achieve our exceptionally high standard.
Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
Sewing responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair any faults found within our woven products
- Cutting, sewing and finishing our products as per customer specifications
- Supporting and assisting with product measurements and preparing items for despatch
- Liaise with Quality Control and follow up with any amendments
- Receipt of and quality control of Goods In*
- Support and assist with the flow of materials through the workshop*
- Carefully cut, pack and despatch finished products to a high standard*
- Accurately maintain stock records and other documentation
- Ensure all products meet ROD quality standards
- Arrange shipment and tracking of all domestic and international shipments, resolving transport issues where necessary
- Ensure organisation and tidiness of storage areas are maintained and comply with Health and Safety
Sampling responsibilities:
- Cut and prepare products to create high quality samples
- Liaise with clients to fulfil sample requests
- Create bespoke sample products
- Packaging and shipping sample products to clients
- Overall support in delivery of product launches
- Updating of data through internal systems
Production Administration responsibilities
- To keep all systems of workings up to date with all stock movements.
- Update stockholding and forward production schedules, and highlight stock
- To carry out other delegated duties as requested and provide cover where required
*These duties include occasional manual handling.

- Efficient in MS Office with a high level of literacy, numeracy, and organisation.
- An understanding and appreciation for quality and an eye for detail.
- A high level of practicality with a hands‑on approach.
- Positive and energetic “can do” attitude.
- A quick learner, proactive and self‑motivated.
- The ability to work independently and thrive under pressure combined with the commitment to being a team member.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- An interest in interiors/design.

Hours of Work:
37.5 per week, 08.30 – 16.30 Monday to Friday including 30 mins unpaid for lunch.
