The Company Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for Omexom UK & ROI entities. This includes managing financial accounting processes, supporting month-end closing, preparing financial statements, and providing detailed financial analysis in accordance with regulatory and internal standards. The role requires collaboration with other departments, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements for applicable entities within the Omexom UK & ROI group, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal reporting standards.
Provide input into the quarterly and annual financial reporting, assisting with variance analysis and commentary.
Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions.
Coordinate month-end closing activities, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies.
Manage year-end audit preparation, liaising with external auditors and providing required documentation.
Promote and monitor adherence to company policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations.
Ensure the accurate and timely filing of tax returns, including VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory obligations for applicable entities.
Oversee reconciliations of intercompany balances and transactions to ensure appropriately disclosed.
Manage cash flow forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with financial projections for applicable entities.
Monitor and manage working capital, identifying areas for improvement or potential risks.
Oversee and assist the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure effective operation.
Continuously evaluate and improve financial accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
Support the implementation of new financial systems or processes as needed.
Assist with internal audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
Support special projects or initiatives related to finance and accounting as required.
Assist with financial due diligence for acquisitions, ERP integrations, or other corporate actions.
CIMA / ACCA / ACA, Degree or equivalent accounting qualification.
Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience.
Outstanding oral and written communication and organisational skills.
Attention to detail, focused on quality and accuracy, within a fast-paced environment, without compromising deadlines.
Ability to analyse and interpret variances.
Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Knowledge of SAP preferable.
People management experience.
Ability to influence others.
Self-starter who can work on their own initiative but also be able to work effectively as part of a team.
This role will be based from our Belfast office and will require limited travel throughout the year to other group offices within the UK & ROI. Flexible working options are available, and a competitive salary and benefits package will apply.
