A leading engineering company is seeking a Senior Valve Technician to provide effective valve repair and part replacement services. The role requires a minimum of GCSE qualifications, relevant apprenticeship or HNC/NVQ, and experience with various types of valves. Duties include troubleshooting, field service repairs, and adherence to health and safety standards. Candidates must possess strong technical skills, be self-directed, and able to manage multiple tasks. This position involves travel within the UK and internationally, ensuring flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSE Grade A – C in core subjects required.
• Apprenticeship or HNC/NVQ in relevant discipline preferred.
• Experience with repairing Control/Relief/Isolation Valves is essential.
• Familiarity with valve instrumentation is crucial.
• Full driving license required for site maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Execute valve repair and part replacement as per specifications.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis on valves.
• Work under the supervision of the Supervisor/Operations Manager.
• Ensure test valves and record all information correctly.
• Promote services by identifying client needs and recommendations.

Skills

Technical/specification writing and interpretation skills

Experience in a service-oriented work environment

Problem-solving service-related issues

IT and information systems including Microsoft Word/Excel

Self-directed and organizational skills

Ability to handle multiple demands

Written and verbal communication skills

Understanding of ISO, ASME and API compliance

Education

Minimum GCSE Grade A – C in core subjects

Apprenticeship in relevant discipline plus 2 years experience

HNC/NVQ in a relevant discipline
