As part of their continued growth, we’re searching for a Formulation Group Lead Scientist to oversee and guide formulation scientists to deliver high‑quality development projects, while acting as the technical lead for client work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of formulation scientists
• Act as technical lead and client contact for formulation projects
• Deliver hands‑on formulation and pre‑formulation laboratory work
• Support dosage form development, scale‑up and characterisation activities
• Ensure quality, safety, documentation and regulatory compliance
• Interpret data, contribute to reports and support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Materials Science or similar
• Experience leading or mentoring scientific teams
• Strong background in formulation development and material characterisation (e.g., Particle size, PXRD, DSC, TGA)
• Knowledge of dosage form development and laboratory‑scale manufacturing
• Experience using DoE/statistical tools to inform development work
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role balancing technical expertise with people leadership and client engagement.
