Job summary

A community organization in the East Midlands is seeking Early Years Practitioners for permanent and part-time roles in Newark and Sherwood. The roles involve working with children aged 0-5 and their families, focusing on early intervention and safeguarding. Candidates should have at least two years of relevant experience and an NVQ 3 in childcare. Permanent and part-time roles available in Newark and Sherwood district, Nottinghamshire

We have an exciting opportunity to join two of our Family Hub Teams in the Newark and Sherwood district area, within Nottinghamshire. This is a great time to join our team as we are transforming our Children's Centre Service into Family Hub Networks. Our work with Children 0-5 years remains part of our core offer and we will be expanding our service offer to 0-19 years (0-25 with SEND).

We have 3 permanent vacancies at the following bases:

  • Full time post (37 hours) based at our Sherwood Family Hub
  • Part-time post (18.5 hours) based at our Sherwood Family Hub
  • Part-time post (34 hours) Based at our Newark Family Hub

As part of the Early Years Practitioner role, you will be able to undertake one to one work with parents/carers to meet identified needs and deliver evidence-based programmes, within the Family Hub and family homes.

You must have a minimum of two years experience of working with children 0-5 and their families, an NVQ 3 in childcare (or equivalent), be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge in the following areas:

  • Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of child development and awareness of the importance of early attachment
  • The importance of early intervention when working with families
  • Working in diverse communities and the ability to work in a non-discriminatory way
  • Working in partnership with a range of agencies
  • Communication skills, report writing, assessment skills, record keeping and IT skills
