Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive 24-hour hospital team in a dedicated night role. The practice is committed to delivering outstanding patient care, providing an excellent client experience, and creating a positive, supportive environment for colleagues. The Role

This is a sole‑charge night position, suited to a vet who is confident managing inpatients and emergency cases independently, with excellent nursing support throughout each shift.

The role offers genuine variety and a sustainable rota, allowing plenty of time away from work to recharge.

  • Typical rota: 5 nights every 3 weeks
  • Responsibility for hospitalised inpatients and out-of-hours emergency cases
  • Supported overnight by an experienced nursing team
  • Opportunity to work up a wide and stimulating caseload

Clinical progression is actively supported, with access to extensive expertise and advanced facilities across the wider group.

Facilities & Clinical Support

The hospital is exceptionally well equipped, enabling gold‑standard care and ongoing professional development, including access to:

  • Doppler echocardiography
  • Flexible and rigid endoscopy
  • Digital and dental radiography
  • Ultrasound scanners

The practice is based in a beautiful part of the country, ideally situated close to both the Peak District and the Lake District, offering exceptional outdoor lifestyle opportunities. Excellent transport links and a short train journey provide easy access to the vibrant city of Manchester.
