Overview

The Field Care Supervisor supports the delivery of the highest quality care support services by carrying out a range of functions in the field, including assessment and review of individual services and the practical supervision, instruction and support of care workers.

Responsibilities

• Work with Care Coordinators to support the planning of realistic, effective care worker rotas, with due regard for the individual’s needs and the skills and attributes of the workers.
• Carry out regular reviews of individual services, including assessment of repeated and renewed needs and risk assessments.
• Participate as required in multi-disciplinary reviews of service users’ needs.
• Shadow new care workers in the field to ensure their competence.
• Conduct on-site observation and evaluation of care worker practice as part of routine supervision, in response to performance concerns or as directed.
• Spend the majority of working time in the community carrying out primary field functions, with a certain amount of office-based administrative work as part of the role.
